OUR STORY
From one couch to a growing furniture brand.
Select Living Furniture started with a single couch, a small idea, and a belief that furniture shopping should feel more human.

The Accidental Beginning
Select Living Furniture began as a simple side hustle during college for our founders, Christian and Chase. While working as pizza delivery drivers, they stumbled upon a couch left on a driveway during a heavy trash night. With the entrepreneurial spirit and the hope of making a few extra dollars, they decided to pick up the couch and try reselling it.
The next day, to their delight, they sold the couch for $120, earning $60 each—a significant amount for college students at the time, equivalent to a full pizza delivery shift. This small success ignited their interest for the demand of the resale market and laid the foundation for what would eventually become Select Living Furniture.

One Man's Trash - Another Man's Treasure
Encouraged by this initial success, Christian and Chase embraced the nickname "trash hunters" and began to explore the potential of their newfound side hustle. After their pizza delivery shifts, they scoured surrounding neighborhoods, even going as far as researching and keeping a note page of the heavy trash schedules in the area. They would pick up anything of value, from vacuums to sectionals to patio furniture, and quickly developed a knack for identifying and refurbishing quality pieces. They stored these items in Chase's dad's backyard.
At this time, they had no idea that their simple side hustle would eventually lead them to become owners of a successful furniture business.

Used Couch Specialists
Shown is the first acquired storage unit dedicated to storing used couches. Although it wasn't initially filled with the best couches, it marked the beginning of a rapidly growing operation. Soon, they were consistently managing 50-60 sectionals across multiple storage units, which combined totaled approximately 2,200 square feet. As their side hustle evolved into a full-time endeavor, Christian and Chase officially established Select Living Furniture on March 21, 2022.

Upgrading the Business
March 14, 2023 - Once Select Living Furniture became a legal business, it grew rapidly. The demand for their used sectionals soared, with customers visiting daily to see their selection. To accommodate this growth, Chase and Christian expanded their services by offering free delivery, building a photo studio in the back of one of their units, and creating showroom-like layouts so customers could try out their favorite sectionals during their visits.
